Make Money From Golf

No, this isn’t about becoming a professional golf hustler or using the golf course as a site for conning business tycoons. If you love the game of golf and are trying to decide on a career or need a career change from your boring 9 to 5 job , there are ways to turn golf into a paying job.

One of the best ways to do this is to enroll in a golf career college . These institutions offer structured, certified courses in how to play and teach golf as well as teaching you about golf course management, grounds maintenance, and hospitality. Many programs offer an accredited degree in professional golf management.

Some of the careers available to graduates include course director, club manager, and tournament director. Other graduates find themselves giving golf lessons, coaching golf, or playing professionally in tour all over the country and the rest of the world. Still other golf careers involve marketing, sales, and management of equipment manufacturers, and working in journalism or television covering professional and amateur golf leagues.

Safes Offer Peace of Mind

To anyone who watches tv news it seems as if home invasions are rising even in small towns. The reality is that most burglaries, including home invasions, take only minutes. Expert thieves know exactly where to look to find valuables, and they do it as quickly as possible. They know that every second is one more chance they’ll get caught. Having your valuables easily accessible just makes their job easier. Investing in a home security system and sturdy window locks is only half the battle. A home safe can provide additional security. Even if these hit-and-run thiefs make it through the door, they won’t have time to crack a safe.

Home safes provide that extra bit of protection. They are designed to hold jewelry, money, important documents and other valuables. There are even specially designed gun safes to secure firearms and ammunition. The latter serve the added purpose of securing guns from the curiosity of children. Safes can be fireproof and come in a wide variety of sizes and shapes. They can be hidden in walls or floors or the larger ones can sit, immovable, in a closet or hidden corner of the home.

Even if a home is never robbed, just knowing the safe is there gives the homeowner another level of security and one less thing to worry about.

San Diego to Get a New Central Library

Exciting news for book lovers in Southern California emerged this summer as the San Diego City Council approved plans for a new Central Library to be constructed in the city’s East Village. The new library will span 497,000 square feet. It’s nine stories will include a charter high school, an auditorium, a coffee bar, and two parking levels. There will also be a 3-story domed reading room, a children’s library, a teen center and a technology center. It is expected to cost $185 million and open in 2013.

Visitors to the city, whether staying in a San Diego luxury hotel or more budget-conscious accommodations will be surprised to learn that the San Diego Library is where Charles Lindbergh plotted the course of his historic solo Transatlantic flight. It houses the book collection of sculptor Donal Hord as well as several of the artist’s works, which were bequeathed to the Library in recognition of the valuable assistance provided by the library’s staff. It also holds the distinction of being the first city west of the Mississippi to receive a Carnegie Library Grant .

The San Diego Central Public Library was established in 1882 and has had several homes, including the Carnegie Library, before landing in its current location in 1954. The Library also includes 35 branch libraries and an adult literacy program office.
